1. No more 9am to 5pm schedule 

If you are tired of the traditional workplace hours of 9am to 5pm, the cabin crew career is the perfect choice for you. Depending on the airline you will either receive a fixed pattern or a personalized schedule once a month. In general, cabin crew flying long-haul (flights of 6 - 12 hours in duration) have on average 5 or 6 trips a month, and 9 to 10 days off. As airline companies want to ensure crew members are well-rested to provide safe travel to their passengers, some cabin crew members work three days per week - something that can be a great benefit that allows more time for family, travel and personal hobbies.  

2. Discounted tickets  

Some airlines - if not the big majority - will offer staff tickets for you and your family, and sometimes even to your friends, allowing you to purchase tickets with a great discount and travel to your favorite destinations. Some international airlines even provide additional free annual leave tickets to your country of origin, to ensure you have the time and means to visit your loved ones. Emirates Airlines, for instance, is one of the airlines that offer this benefit to its employees.  

3. Promotion opportunities  

Having a great record, always being on time, and performing on board will help you receive a promotion faster. Contracts can be anywhere between 6 months and 3 years, but also open-ended, so you can figure out if the cabin crew career is the right move for you - whether you wish to fly as a seasonal cabin crew or have it as a permanent career.  

Many airlines allow you to work towards different promotional opportunities depending on the availability of the role, such as: Cabin Crew Evaluators, Senior Cabin Crew Member, Flight Purser, Ground Instructor, Base Chief, and more.
